The project

Once again Tonje Grøvik and I chose to collaborate. In this assignment we could choose between three different briefs, handed out by our client: The Norwegian museum of Science and Technology. After a quick brainstorming and some research we chose project 3: Mind the gap – The National Medical Museum. The brief goes as followed:

National medical museum is located at the Teknisk Museum in Oslo. A new exhibition on the brain and brain science is in progress. The working title is Mind the gap. The exhibition is planned to be opened early in 2011.

(…) The aim for the project is to develop a working prototype of an exhibit on one of the brains sentral functions, such as emotions/feelings, remembering, motoric function, or functions related to our senses (seeing, smelling, hearing). The exhibit shall challenge the users, in regard to curiosity and eager to learn more about how the brain functions. This may be done by relating the exhibit to a neurological disease which knocks out or interact with the brain function (Alzheimers, Parkinsons or psychiatric disease such as schizophrenia or bipolar disease).
